Twenty Sounds' players saw action in Monday’s 11-inning come-from-behind victory, with Brice Turang coming through with a clutch two-run double.

Our report today provides the details on Nashville's first game post-clinch, but the focus is on the transaction wire, including a goodbye to the Crew's 2nd round pick in 2017, RHP Caden Lemons, who made only 17 appearances as a Brewers farmhand, and only four in full-season ball.

They have entertained us from start to finish. There's been little-to-no-controversary we're aware of, hard to avoid in the next-level down from MLB. Kudos, team, we "Bleed Sounds" with you, as your season mantra goes.

While Robert Gasser and the bullpen registered mostly zeroes, the irrepressible Sounds collected nine hits, drew nine walks and stole six bases in a comfortable 5-1 victory.

When the Sounds are good, they're really good. Lately, that typically involves a Josh Lindblom start. I spoke to it at the end of yesterday's report and I wasn't lying - Lindblom is our man. He is pitching lights out baseball right now.

Oh, and geez, Sal Frelick extended his on-base streak with yet another home run - his second in two nights. Tonight's ding dong was the three-run variety. The Magic Number for a Sounds playoff extravaganza is now a mere three games. I can taste it and it is sweeeeet. 

In yet another key game in the Sounds deep playoff push, a cellar dwellar again proved to be the thorn in Nashville's side. I don't know what it is, but I have yet to see an easy game played versus Charlotte or Louisville. So it goes in a baseball season. Let's get into the quick recap.

The Sounds raced to an 8-0 lead behind solid performances from Sal Frelick, Esteury Ruiz and young starter Victor Castaneda, then held on for a Game One victory.

The first place Sounds battled back from an early deficit thanks to homers from Cam Devanney and Weston Wilson. Biloxi’s win streak ended at nine games in its season finale, despite another Tristen Lutz blast.

The Nashville Sounds drew closer to a division title. The Biloxi Shuckers are closing with an amazing flourish. Let's dig into the game summaries and box scores as always while also providing backstory info and insights on some of the player journeys heading into 2023. The Brewers top two affiliates are dueling with the Marlins' clubs this week, and Friday saw a split decision. Nashville gave their fans a rare silent night, while Biloxi is reminding us of how their season began, and that's a very good thing. As of this coming week, the Sounds will stand alone, but Zavier Warren and the Shuckers are giving us reason to follow them to the very end. As much of a dud as Nashville played, the men still maintain a solid division lead as another page flipped on the calendar.

Brandon Knarr led the Shuckers to a 7th straight victory in a tight 1-0 affair. Esteury Ruiz gave Nashville an early lead which held up behind excellent pitching.

The headline says it all. Sal Frelick is an on base machine. His key three-run homer not only extended his personal on base streak to 31 games (second in the International League at present), it gave the Sounds a 4-2 lead. Clutch stuff from the young stud. Esteury Ruiz broke the Sounds single game steals record with five stolen bases by the fourth inning. Those early 1980's Sounds teams were legendary. I tip my cap to Otis Nixon's record that held for decades, but, I have to think Ruiz's record will hold for even longer. My goodness.
