Left-handed pitcher Brandon Knarr pitched very well in Wisconsin and Biloxi in 2022. Recently, he joined us for a three-part Brewers Spotlight. With the 27th overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, the Milwaukee Brewers selected Eric Brown, Jr., a shortstop from Coastal Carolina. We recently chatted with him on Brewers Spotlight. In Part 1, get to know his background, amateur days, and much more.

The Brewers drafted right-handed pitcher Cameron Wagoner in the 11th round out of Eastern Michigan University. Recently I had the chance to chat with the hard-throwing righty about his background, getting drafted, and much more. 

Having provided followers of the Brewers' minor league system six full months of wonderful efficiency and success in terms of talent and teamwork, the AAA Nashville Sounds unfortunately had a night to forget in Las Vegas, dropping a 13-0 decision to the Tamps Rays' Durham club. The Bulls, the victor in the single game winner-take-all contest for the International League Championship, now move on to a Sunday game vs, the Reno Aces (Diamondbacks) for the crown of 2022 AAA Champion.

This week, we have been presenting the 2022 Brewer Fanatic Minor League Awards. Today, we complete our minor league awards with the announcement of our choice for Brewers Minor league Hitter of the Year.

What a debut season it was for Carlos F. Rodriguez, settling in after a rocky start to dominate with a 2.27 ERA over his final 22 games. In a tough selection for voters, Rodriguez emerged the winner ahead of 12-win Caleb Boushley, 11-win Brandon Knarr and other terrific prospects.

Selecting the Relief Pitcher award winner was a no brainer. Cam Robinson – the guy who led the entire minor leagues in saves, often of the multi-inning variety. Stat of the Year: Wisconsin won 25 of the 28 games in which Mr. Robinson pitched!

Amongst many quality pitching prospects in the Brewers’ four short-season squads this year, Kevin Briceno stood out for superb results across 12 appearances.

It wasn't the result the Sounds wanted to end their regular season, but, honestly, who cares? ? The Sounds avoided any major injuries and they already had the number one seed wrapped up. Now, it's on to the playoffs Saturday night in Vegas.

LHP Robert Gasser avoided his recent walk issues but apparently, he hit a bit too much of the plate in what was most likely his final outing of his 2022 season - 5 IP, 10 H, 1 HR, 5 ER, 6 K. The Sounds ultimately fell 8-4 closing their regular season with a loss. 

As the regular season winds down, it is time to start handing out awards. Today, we begin a series of minor-league awards by handing out our choice for Brewer Fanatic Short Season Minor League Hitter of the Year. 

It was the last evening home game of 2022 - with an attendance of around 7,000 fans the Sounds moved back atop the Minor League attendance leaderboard passing Lehigh Valley and Indianapolis who were both on the road. It was 4-3 Sounds headed to the eighth frame and, boy, did they pour it on for their 91st victory of their 2022 campaign ensuring their 18th series win.

We also learned the Sounds will take their 10-8 overall record versus Durham to Vegas on Saturday. Let's hope the Sounds can manage one more in the 'W' column as those pesky and talented Bulls will look to give Nashville everything they have. What we do know, regardless of what happens tomorrow, is the Sounds will indeed hold the number one seed throughout the weekend no matter how far they go - they will pitch first and bat last. And, hopefully, they'll do so for a couple of outings before their champagne shower while hoisting a shiny trophy.
