The Sounds played 13 innings, winning the continuation of Saturday’s game 17-7 and coming back to defeat Louisville 5-4 in the night cap. Antoine Kelly was dominant with 13 Ks, but Wisconsin still had to rally to win it 7-6 late. Carolina tried to rally again from a big deficit, ultimately dropping the game 5-3. Biloxi never threatened in their 6-1 loss.

The Biloxi Shuckers could not overcome Noah Zavolas' continued struggles since his 2022 return and, ultimately, fell to the Mississippi Braves. Elsewhere in the system, Wisconsin batters found their strokes and supported the ever-dominant Brandon Knarr who continues his lights out 2022 campaign. The Carolina 'Micro Brews' managed to hold on to their slim lead after an extensive weather delay pulling out a 2-1 victory, and Nashville was shut down by inconsolable and fickle weather after taking a 7-0 lead into the third inning. Carolina comes back from a 4-run deficit with 2 outs in the 9th to win on a Hendry Mendez walk-off grand slam. Biloxi also battles to steal a 4-3 win. Nashville’s pitchers combined on a 5-hit, 4-0 shutout victory. Wisconsin’s bats never got going in a 6-2 loss.

Alexander Cornielle and Carlos F. Rodriguez combined on an 11K Mudcat 9-2 victory. Justin Jarvis’ 10K gem wasn’t supported with enough Rattler runs. Biloxi’s bullpen allowed a 4-0 lead (on 3 home runs) to evaporate. Terrific efforts by Dylan File and Tyler Herb (9 innings, 1 run, combined) went for naught in Nashville.

Ethan Small was scratched from his start late due to ongoing Nashville clubhouse non-COVID related sicknesses. Thomas Jankins took the challenging role of the spot-start. Meanwhile, Andy Otero got his first relief work at Triple-A while Fernando Olguin got his first starting work at Low-A Carolina. Wisconsin played a sleeper for their matinee as Ryne Moore struggled in his first start since his promotion. And Biloxi, unfortunately, did their blown lead thing and failing to find that hit thing with runners on. Let's get into the recap!

One of the absolute joys of religiously following the Minor League Brewers affiliates is seeing young men rewarded for their tireless hard work. Congratulations and high fives abound on this Minor League Monday - check out the bountiful 'Transactions' below. I personally witnessed several jaw-dropping plays from the center field position from High-A Wisconsin up to Triple-A Nashville. It was truly one spectacular game-winning or game-saving play after the next. From Jonny Davis' game-saving diving catch or his game-tying home run, to Joe Gray Jr's game-winning two-run bomb over the wall in left field in the bottom of the eighth inning of a 1-1 game, to Sal Frelick laying out in shallow center for a crucial out in a 6-2 game. Transactions are coming today. Some very exciting promotions at that. Check back throughout the day for more and do discuss those moves. Nashville remains in first place after a 4-2 week. Biloxi returned to their winning ways with a 4-2 week. Wisconsin went 5-1 again. Carolina played at .500. Several top prospects had huge weeks. Biloxi crushes a team record six home runs in support of Noah Zavolas’ 2022 debut. A phenomenal eight-K, three-inning shutout debut for Stiven Cruz led Carolina to victory. Nashville racks up 11 runs for a comfortable win. Brandon Knarr is once-again dominant for Wisconsin, with ten strikeouts in seven shutout innings.

The affiliate bats were up to the task on Saturday night, leading the way to wins at the top three levels of the Crew's system. RHP Tyler Herb, a recently-turned 30-year-old with two stints in the Seattle system on his resume, in addition to minor league stays with San Francisco and Baltimore, continued to shine in Biloxi, making his case for the Brewers to find room on a crowded Nashville roster. Though the kids in Carolina dropped their contest, their bats were hardly idle. Warmer temperatures bringing about crooked numbers, yeah, we're ready!

Perhaps it's fitting that the four Brewers affiliates split their contests on Friday the 13th. It is also that day on the calendar for the opponents after all. Let's dive into the action and learn why it was a 50-50 kind of evening on the farm.

Keston Hiura drove in seven runs as Nashville cruised. Clutch hitting (including three triples) turned ten hits into ten runs for a Wisconsin victory, while Biloxi produced only three runs on 11 hits in a loss. The frustrated Mudcats left 11 men on base in their defeat.

The Shuckers fought back in their matinee game but reverted to the poor form seen during their recent seven-game skid. The Sounds clawed their way back to even but faded late with three uncharacteristic runs conceded by the bullpen. Carolina lost a well-pitched low-scoring affair in Fayetteville. BUT, all was literally not lost: Wisconsin kept plugging away and ultimately won on a classic move the runner brand of baseball late and a vintage May 2022 closing performance from Cam Robinson.
