Eight extra base hits powered Biloxi to a 10-7 victory, including 5 RBIs from the surprising Doston-Coca-Campbell combination. Unfortunately, Nashville gave up 9 runs on 6 homers in a 9-7 loss, while Wisconsin’s offense failed to show up in a 4-0 defeat. Carolina grabbed an 8th inning lead, but a rain delay means they’ll need to finish on Friday.

Woof. It was definitely one of those vintage frustrating baseball nights across all lower levels. We saw struggles with RISP (several stranded bases loaded across multiple games), a rare Nashville bullpen meltdown, and opponents simply playing better in key moments. All told, we lost them all. Let's get to the recaps and back to a fresh slate of games tomorrow.

Seth's pitcher of the week for the final week in May, Justin Jarvis, got the start tonight as the Timber Rattlers returned to Fox Cities Stadium to face Peoria. Let's head to Bank of the James Stadium first, however, as our Carolina Mudcats started a road series versus Cleveland's Low-A affiliate in Lynchburg.

We are now past Memorial Day, about two months into the season. The Brewers are in first place. Nashville is in first place. Double-A Biloxi is in first place by percentage points. Wisconsin split their series with Cedar Rapids to remain just one game behind. Carolina is in first place. Things are good. Find out more about another strong week in the Brewers farm system.  

With Nashville our sole affiliate playing a Memorial Day game, I was afforded the opportunity to see Dylan File complete his longest outing of the year - six complete innings for the young hurler. What a game from Dylan! Abraham Almonte stayed scorching hot, Zach Brown escaped trouble in the bottom of the eighth, and Andy Otero secured his first official Save in seven years. Off the heels of their first three-game losing streak of the season in Toledo, the Sounds have now won two games in a row and are 18 games above .500. Let's get into the recap!

Terrific offensive output catapulted Nashville, Biloxi and Carolina to big wins, while the Timber Rattlers held on to a 6-4 victory to claw within a game of first place Cedar Rapids. In all, the Brewers’ affiliates combined for 44 runs and 41 hits, including seven home runs.

There's no way to quickly tell if the Brewers' organization leads all of MiLB in walk-off victories (by every manner imaginable it seems), but if it doesn't, then it must be close to the top, given the overall W-L record of the four affiliates and the seemingly nightly entry (sometimes more than one, like within this report) we document here. Word of advice: don't leave Sounds-Shuckers-Timber Rattlers-Mudcats games early!

Fans in attendance at the three Brewers affiliate games saw plenty of action Friday night, There were runs scored (both the good and bad guys) in 22 half-innings, including ten turns at bat in Biloxi. 

Sincere apologies to Biloxi's Terence Doston and Carolina's Jackson Chourio for not referencing their walk-off base hits within the title of this report. But when you hear the line "simply addicted to hitting nukes" within a local TV highlight package, and it refers to the golden boy of the Brewers' farm system, well, the headline decision is automatic. But this report will certainly get to the last-moment victories within, and it was an unusually busy Thursday on the transaction front, even if there were only two actual active roster changes.

Details forthcoming on a dominant performance by our precocious Mudcats, another fantastic outing for a resurgent Timber Rattler starting pitcher, a rare stumble for the Sounds bullpen, and another idle day for the Shuckers, this time via Mother Nature. Before we dig into the details, let's briefly discuss why the upcoming Memorial Day weekend is such an important marker in the minor league season from a fan perspective.

Biloxi's game was cancelled due to ongoing COVID issues with the Montgomery Biscuits ball club, Wisconsin lost convincingly in Cedar Rapids, Nashville and Carolina each mounted late game-winning rallies to continue their recent runs of success. Let's get into the recaps!
