Right field has been a revolving door for the Brewers, but some right fielders have delivered monster seasons for the Crew.

On January 16, 2023, former Brewer infielder Travis Shaw announced his baseball retirement at age 32. The man known as the Mayor of Ding Dong City had enjoyed a short but memorable career in the majors - including a pair of exceptional seasons with the Brewers. 

One of the classic songs of baseball, “Centerfield" by John Fogerty, features an aspiring center fielder who wants to play. For the Brewers, though, center field has seen some iconic players and some who were very well-loved by the fans.

Baseball is a team game, so while individual stats are important, there are often other variables to consider. It's the reason why some believe FIP to be more indicative of a pitcher's ability than ERA. With catchers, their defensive framing figures are directly affected by whoever is throwing to them. If a pitch is hard to hit, it might also be hard to frame.

Left field sometimes gets a bad rap – often being compared to where the crazy ideas come from. For the Brewers, though, left fielders have included some dominating defense and outstanding offense from players who locked the position down for years, many of whom were superb sluggers.

The Brian Anderson signing wasn't a big splash for the Milwaukee Brewers, but they are likely banking on his power returning in 2023, which would increase his value and strengthen the lineup. The two biggest keys for the 29-year-old's resurgent power will be a new home ballpark and improved health.
