The hits just keep coming for the Milwaukee Brewers pitching staff. Just days after losing Freddy Peralta for a considerable amount of time, Brandon Woodruff winds up on the injured list due to a right ankle sprain.

Terrific offensive output catapulted Nashville, Biloxi and Carolina to big wins, while the Timber Rattlers held on to a 6-4 victory to claw within a game of first place Cedar Rapids. In all, the Brewers’ affiliates combined for 44 runs and 41 hits, including seven home runs.

After taking two out of three in San Diego to start their eleven game road trip, the Brewers stop into St. Louis to battle the second place Cardinals in a four game set. The Brewers come into the series with a 3 1/2 game lead, so this could prove to be a crucial early-season test for the Crew. 

Just a few days ago the Milwaukee Brewers were dealt a significant blow to their starting rotation when right-hander Freddy Peralta was placed on the injured list with what is expected to be a long-term issue. Today, news broke that the club is making a significant response in promoting left-hander Ethan Small, presumably to make his debut on Monday.

There's no way to quickly tell if the Brewers' organization leads all of MiLB in walk-off victories (by every manner imaginable it seems), but if it doesn't, then it must be close to the top, given the overall W-L record of the four affiliates and the seemingly nightly entry (sometimes more than one, like within this report) we document here. After taking care of the St. Louis Cardinals in a white-knuckler on Thursday night, the Milwaukee Brewers led the National League in home runs. As of Saturday morning, they continue to. That is not a misprint.

Fans in attendance at the three Brewers affiliate games saw plenty of action Friday night, There were runs scored (both the good and bad guys) in 22 half-innings, including ten turns at bat in Biloxi.

But when you hear the line "simply addicted to hitting nukes" within a local TV highlight package, and it refers to the golden boy of the Brewers' farm system, well, the headline decision is automatic. But this report will certainly get to the last-moment victories within, and it was an unusually busy Thursday on the transaction front, even if there were only two actual active roster changes.

Prior to yesterday’s game against the San Diego Padres, the Milwaukee Brewers placed right-handed pitcher Freddy Peralta on the injured list with a strained right lat muscle. The move was accompanied by a cascading effect among the pitchers.

The Brewers are in first place. Nashville is in first place. Biloxi, Wisconsin, and Carolina are all in second place, well within striking distance. The Sounds played 13 innings, winning the continuation of Saturday’s game 17-7 and coming back to defeat Louisville 5-4 in the night cap. Antoine Kelly was dominant with 13 Ks, but Wisconsin still had to rally to win it 7-6 late. Carolina tried to rally again from a big deficit, ultimately dropping the game 5-3. Biloxi never threatened in their 6-1 loss.
