The Milwaukee Brewers have been without a few key players for the past couple of weeks and today they get two back on the active roster. Both starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff and second basemen Kolten Wong have been returned from the injured list.

The Milwaukee Brewers were dealt a significant blow recently when starting pitcher Freddy Peralta was placed on the injured list with what's feared to be a long term injury. Prior to today's contest they got a bit of good news with star closer Josh Hader being activated to the 26-man roster.

The Milwaukee Brewers activated Hunter Renfroe from the injured list prior to Tuesday's tilt against the Minnesota Twins. In order to make room for him on the 26-man roster Milwaukee designated starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez for assignment.

Just a couple of days after getting starting shortstop Willy Adames back in the starting lineup, the Milwaukee Brewers have also re-inserted catcher Omar Narvaez. Catcher Alex Jackson was played on the 10-day injured list to make room for the move.

With the deadline about 90 minutes away, the Brewers announced that they have added infielder Brice Turang and bullpen arm Abner Uribe to their 40-man roster. Then ten minutes before the deadline, they also announced the additions of reliever Cam Robinson and first baseman Jon Singleton. 

Wednesday, the 3-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates marked just the 22nd time in team history that the Milwaukee Brewers' allowed one or zero hits in a game. Aaron Ashby got the start, but it was a total staff effort, which isn't necessarily the norm. Let's look at some numbers and trends from this rare Brewers' feat.

The Milwaukee Brewers have been hit hard on the pitching front when it comes to injuries this season. Although most fans were reveling in the long weekend and taking part in Fourth of July activities, the Milwaukee Brewers kicked off a busy few days of transactions starting on Friday. Six total moves impacted the mound and lineup, moving plenty of players around.
