The Brewers are off to a hot start in the second half, and no one is more responsible than Yelich himself.

The best Brewer of all time was drafted in the first round. There have been quite a few other greats, including one which they couldn't sign who would be a workhorse until injuries took over. 

The 2022 MLB Amateur Draft is just on the horizon, beginning on July 17th. Looking back at the late round gems of past Brewer drafts, one current Brewer stands out. So do a couple of unsigned draftees.

This is where things start to get really interesting, with a gluttony of good players drafted in Round 11 to Round 15, most of whom signed, leaving only a couple of notable unsigned players drafted by the Brewers in these rounds. 

The Brewers drafted a universal fan favorite in the 16th round, who only ended up with significant playing time in Milwaukee in the twilight of his career. They also were unable to secure some greats, one of whom is a Cy Young contender.

This is where choices get way too tough, as there are so many great players drafted by the Brewers between round 2 and round 5. The signed player ends up being a current star of the MLB, while the player who Milwaukee couldn’t secure should’ve been the best shortstop of all time, but injuries cut that short.

The Brewers found a gem in the 22nd round that helped the team when he was on it, and also helped the team when he was traded. But they also were unable to sign some players who ended up on rival teams. 

Top 10! This time we’ve got quite a few major leaguers, though not too many stars. In fact, we have to go to the Seattle Pilots to get to the best unsigned player, but there are still quite a few good players for those signed.

Even with a disappointing end to the 2022 season, the Brewers still received a incredible effort from their everyday shortstop. Congrats to Willy Adames on being named our MVP for the 2022 season!

The Milwaukee Brewers Best Rookie and Most Improved, as voted by Brewer Fanatic staff, have been revealed. We find our way once again on the mound where Corbin Burnes follows up his 2021 Cy Young Award-winning season with the 2022 Brewer Fanatic Pitcher of the Year Award. I'm sure it's just as meaningful to the 27-year-old.

A quiet week in the draft world is not the worst thing. In fact, any draft noise in late April is usually injury-related. So we’ll take a week without big news as a good sign. There were, though, still three draft-related articles that I want to draw your attention to.
