We are not quite one-tenth of the way into the 2022 season and the Crew have rebounded from a bit of a rough start to find themselves just one-half game behind the Cardinals.  A scheduling quirk this coming week sees the Brewers travel to Philadelphia for a weekend series with the Phillies, then back to Milwaukee for a single-game against the Giants, before they head back to the Keystone State for three more with the Pirates.

Another week, and the NL Central leading Brewers sort of ho-hummed their way to a 5-1 record.  Taking care of business against bad teams is important for teams with big aspirations.  And while the 2022 Brewers aren't without blemishes, after a month it should be clear they have big aspirations.  And the Brewer Fanatic forum knows it.

Welcome Brewer Fanatics to a guest addition of Forum Friday. I'm happy to fill in for Chris this week and recap the week for the Brewers faithful, and faithful we must be, after the week the Brewers have been through. But with Adames and Renfroe back from IL, and Narvaez coming back soon, maybe the Brewers luck will turn around soon.

Brewer fanatics love a good rally, so let’s have one ourselves. Save this date: Saturday, July 9th when the Brewers take on the Pirates at 3:00. We’re planning on a tailgate beforehand, including free brats and beer, and then catch the game at American Family Field. Prior to yesterday’s game against the San Diego Padres, the Milwaukee Brewers placed right-handed pitcher Freddy Peralta on the injured list with a strained right lat muscle. The move was accompanied by a cascading effect among the pitchers.

Just a day after the Milwaukee Brewers were dealt a significant blow to their rotation with Freddy Peralta being placed on the injured list, slugger Hunter Renfroe suffered the same fate.

Like many Brewers fans of a certain age, the ’82 season cemented my childhood love of baseball in general, and the Brewers in particular.  I had been a fan of the game for as far back as I can remember, but there was just something special about that team.  Perhaps it was that we had been watching them grow together through the past few seasons, and all of the names were like old familiar friends.  Molitor.
