NY Times Article on Matt Wise

crewcrazy

A profile on Matt Wise was in the NYT yesterday, so I thought I'd post it in case anyone is interested in how things are going for Salad Tongs so far in New York. The article mentions Matt's bad luck with injuries, discussing the slippery railing in San Diego, the salad tongs in Kansas City, and hitting his head on the dugout in Minnesota. It looks like Matty has the inside track to being the Mets' middle-innings guy, but I thought this quote was kind of funny:

The Mets were attracted to his ability to throw multiple innings and to his versatility - he is familiar with working the middle innings and knows the pressure of the setup role.

Are they in for a surprise, or what? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

I wanted to watch the youtube video of Wise hitting his head again, but they took it down after the article linked it! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

I'll always wish Wise the best, he was one of my favorites.

he is not a klutz so much as he is unlucky.

Some non-statheads may beg to disagree with you, Matty. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
