There are 3 guys stranded in a jungle.

2 of them weigh 150 pounds, one of them weighs 200 pounds. They have to cross a river and they see a small boat. It can hold 300 pounds without sinking. How do all of them get across?

First, the two 150 pounders go over, and one comes back, then the 200 pounder goes over on his own, and the 1st 150 pounder comes back to pick up the other one, at which point the two 150 pounds go back together.

Edit: Woops, didn't see Ryne's, sorry.

2 men in a boat with 3 cigarettes and no matches -- how do they manage to smoke?

One of the men is wearing glasses. He takes off his glasses, puts a drop of water on the lense to act as a magnifier and uses the sun's glare to create fire.

Nope

One of them has a lighter.

you're on the right track, but they have nothing in the boat but three cigs. (think more wordplay, less survivorman)

An airplane is on a conveyor. The conveyor is set to match the speed of the airplane in the backwards direction. However fast the plane moves, the conveyor moves just as fast. Can the plane take off?

Did they finally show that on Mythbusters?

I seem to remember a thread dedicated solely to this a few years ago. I still maintain that it does indeed take off.

Brain teaser: 3 men go into a motel. The clerk says the room is $30, so each man paid $10 and went to the room. A while later, the desk clerk realized the room was only $25, so he sent the bellboy to the 3 guys' room with the extra $5. On the way, the bellboy couldn't figure out how to split $5 evenly between 3 men so he gave each man $1 and kept the other $2 for himself. This meant that the 3 men each paid $9 for the room, which made a total of $27. Add to that the $2 the bellboy kept and the total is $29. Where is the other dollar?

Yeah, they did it on Mythbusters maybe 6 weeks ago, and it took off. It's because the wheels of the airplane don't power the plane, the propeller does. So the conveyor belt could be going much faster than the plane propeller, and it would still take off because the wheels would just be going as fast as the conveyor belt, plus the speed of the propeller. I don't know if that makes sense, but I tried.

Yes, the plane's wheels move independently of the force that moves the plane, so it will take off, as the propeller will pull it through the air, unlike a car in the same situation.
