patrickgpe
all right so 2 weeks from today ill be in toronto for the day to witness some safety tests and 9am and ill have approximately 5 or 6 hours to kill before my 8 pm flight back to milwaukee. I really want to take a tour of the rogers centre but besides that i am looking for suggestions to kill time. ill be up there all by myself so ill need something to keep my entertained, not get into too much trouble, and maybe have a good story or 2 to tell my friends.

I was in Toronto a while ago. There were a few things to do near the Skydome. You can go up in the CN Tower, which was the the world tallest structure until recently. There's a restaurant at the top. I remember there being a few attractions around the base of the tower, including some virtual reality stuff.

the hockey hall of fame is also there if that is your cup of tea. been there a couple times...pretty interesting

I agree! Loved the hockey hall of fame, If I remember right to there is even some old Milwaukee Admirals items. I also believe you can tour Maple Leaf Gardens. Great Classic hockey stadium. If you are a BNL fan, you could always check out the Late Night Record Shop (just looked it up. Its been closed http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif ) Otherwise its a great city. Love going there. I know this is a baseball board, but I would personally skip the Rogers Centre, and tour the Air Canada Centre. Its a state of the art and so many cool things to see.

thanks guys, what i was thinking was once i get out of csa, the rogers center is about a half hour drive from there so i could do the tour of the tower and the stadium, have lunch there and see what time it is. I kind of want to stay close and do things in close approximately so i don't get lost or anything since i am in a strange city by myself and i can make it back to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

I actually was in Toronto in 2004 just days before the Paul Molitor Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Me and five buddies drove all the way to Toronto from Racine overnight and stayed at a hotel near the airport (I believe the Sheraton Inn). We went to a Blue Jays game at the Rogers Centre and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe inside the stadium prior to the game. The stadium is nothing to write home about and seemed like a large dentist office waiting room (everything was too blue in the stadium). The area around the stadium is fairly clean and we spent some time at this bar nearby called the "Loose Moose." It was a decent bar with some friendly waitresses and bartenders. Me and my buddies didn't spend too much time in Toronto around the ballgame we went to because we hated Toronto altogether (the Sheraton Inn hotel employees were ultra snobby and laughed at us when we asked about a continental breakfast the following morning). But there is a lot to do to kill time near the Rogers Centre though.

I went to Toronto for 4 days last Halloween and absolutely loved it. The CN tower was very neat, Rogers Centre not so much. There is also a shopping center (maybe centre up there) not far from that area that is like 5 levels and a great place to waste time at. at pretty much all times of day over the weekend we were there something was going on at the mall, performance artists, mini circus acts and such. mostly just cool things to watch. plus i went into a pharmacy in the mall and asked if they sold aleive for a migraine and the guy told me it would be pointless to have that kind of medication when I could just go to the counter in back and get vicodin or codine instead!!! didn't do it but probably should have
Everything I've ever known, I've learned from Brewerfan.net....Seriously though

I went to Toronto for a day in the summer of 2006. First impression was that the highways are the biggest that I have ever seen, I think there was one that was 12 lanes on each side at one point. The Rogers Centre wasn't anything special, but the weather was gorgeous and the Blue Jays beat up the Mets, so it was a fun day. We didn't have time to check out the city though, it was on to Niagara falls right away.
