Line for Single Game Tickets on Saturday

hart attack 2006
Last year when I ordered over the phone there was a per ticket fee plus a per order fee. Also, when I tried to order tickets the first day they couldn't give a certain section(212, 213, ect) or row. You could only pick what kind of tickets you wanted, Loge Diamond box, Loge Outfield box, ect. I think they farm out their phone orders for the first few days.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I drove by the park on my way home and would guesstimate about 75 tents or so camped out around 11:30. figure 4 people per tent, and 4 tickets per person and that takes out about 1200 of the 2000 tickets that were suppose to be available. Just don't think that I'm going to make it there tomorow.
Everything I've ever known, I've learned from Brewerfan.net....Seriously though

I know they go on sale to anyone who bought a season ticket package on Monday. Also they are doing the $10 for anywhere in the stadium deal like the indians games last year

I worked 3rd shift and my office is only a couple miles from Miller Park so I stopped down after work on the slim remote miunte chance that I'd be able to get Opening Day tickets. By 9AM, the line started at the doors right to the east of the home plate ticket windows. It went from there all the way down the concourse to the Hot Corner doors, out those doors and probably 50 yards back down the sidewalk. So yeah, do the math. I left.

I was able to snag 14 tickets to the bobble head games - all front row - online. We also got an outdoor table for Fridays for one of the bobbleheads games over the phone.

Not to bad considering I had to sit in the "Virtual Waiting Room" for 46 minutes. I actually got in at 9:00 and 9:03. Both times I went to add tickets to my cart I was booted back to the VWR.

I got there right around 6am expecting, but hoping, not to get opening day tickets (I have a few other opening day options). We were about 1/2 hour from getting to the ticket window when they announced that opening day was sold out. I'm going to the Prince bobble head day.

I'm also pretty sure it was colder inside the stadium than outside. Why wouldn't they at least close the roof panels for this event?

Ben, there's no wait at all now, I don't think you can, not is it financially intelligent to "raise capacity" for 3 hours of the year.

The odds of a season ending series being for a playoff spot for both teams is tiny...and not all that big for either club. It's probably 10 times more likely to be meaningless.

MILWAUKEE - With a sunny day bringing at least one indication that

baseball season is on the horizon, thousands of fans braved the cold

temperatures at Miller Park to help the Brewers set an all-time,

single-day franchise sales record with 98,000 tickets sold in just eight

hours.

The first fans started lining up on Tuesday in preparation for what has

become an unofficial regional holiday in Wisconsin, the first day of

ticket sales for Brewers individual games.

"We want to thank everyone for coming out and contributing to this

record-setting day," said Brewers Executive Vice President - Business

Operations Rick Schlesinger. "Given the weather this time of year, we

are amazed at the dedication of our fans. When you look at today's

results and this year's significant increase in Season Seat Holders,

it's clear that Brewers fans everywhere eagerly anticipate the start of

the 2008 season."

Today's record of 98,000 eclipses last year's mark by more than 15%. The

previous record total for a single day was 94,000, set on the first day

of ticket sales in 2006. The top four single-day sales totals have all

occurred on the first day of individual game sales (listed below):

#1 2008 - 98,000 sold

#2 2006 - 94,000 sold

#3 2005 - 90,000 sold

#4 2007 - 85,000 sold

#5 2001 - 48,000 sold

As part of today's Arctic Tailgate activities, the first 2,000 fans at

the Box Office received a free Arctic Tailgate t-shirt, a Klement's hot

dog, a Pepsi and chips.

Tickets remain on sale at the Miller Park Box Office, through

brewers.com, by phone (414-902-4000) and at all tickets.com outlets.

-I used to have a neat-o signature, but it got erased.

Ok so I just woke up from a nice long needed sleep. Me and my friend started are camp out for opening day tickets on Wednesday at 5PM are other firend joined us Friday. We were #2 in line according to tents. The first group got their at 11AM on Wednesday. It was fun for the most part. The main issue we had was with the cold cold weather. Wednesday night we were able to plug in are space heater we had and keep warm inside the tent. Thursday morning though we got woken up by a old MP official telling us and the other tent that we could not use their electrical outlets or have open flames. He came by a few times during the day to check the outlet by us http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif

By night time there were about 10 tents that were in line with us. We had a nice group of people all around us. A lot of us ate at Fridays and then proceeded to drink their at the bar for long periods of time to stay warmhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif. The staff at Fridays were really helpfull and nice towards us and let us use their bathroom anytime they were open 11AM-12PM since MP did not start to their setup process till Friday morning. That's when we finally got port a pottys and ice removed from the sidewalk. It would have been nice to have that done earlier in the week but oh well maybe they didn't we would be coming on Wednesday.

All night long Thursday till about 3 AM we were playing hide and go seek with a 3rd shift worker and a duralog that another group of people had burning in their grill. Basically we would light the log and in a few minutes the worker would drive over on his cart and tell us that the guy in the control room that is watching us on camera is getting fired up about are fire and that we need to close it. After a while we would quickly shut the grill top when we heard him coming. He would either take laps around the MP or go inside and finish watching a movie with Angelina Jolie in it and then get sent back to check us out. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif. We did this for about 1 1/2 hours. No one though could really give us a good answer as to why we could not have either a fire or electricity.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif It was most likely a liability issue but it would have been nice to get a decent answer from someone instead of saying I don't know why I am just doing my job.

From Friday around 2PM on is when most people started to show up. By 5PM the line was back to the ticket windows and by 2AM when I checked again it was halfway down the first base line.

Friday Night I slept for a hour or two in my car after I warmed it up. There were fires going and we could use electricity but I was just not warming up http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif.

Saturday Morning we took down the tent and packed away all the blankets and other stuff we had around 5:30 AM. The had officials their watching the line around 5 AM and on.

They took us inside around 7 AM and walked the line around the Fan Zone and down to the club entrance under the tower. Once the line was in place we could freely walk around get donuts or use the Fridays bathroom. They opened early around 7 to sell breakfast burritos. The sausages and Bernie walked around greeting people. Some MP officials handed out free stuff like a demo PC baseball game. The free left over SGA's were the DAV cards, Cappy white bobbleheads and the Braves nesting doll set.

At around 8:30 AM is when they started to move the section in groups of 12 to the doors were you got the Artic Tailgate t-shirt and then about 5 minutes later the let the group go outside to the ticket windows to start buying tickets. Me and my two friends talked to the officals working the line and were able to goa s a group to the last ticket window open. The only tickets we wanted were opening day and the last home game against the Cubs. But we wanted are tickets together so that's why we went in a group Mp was really nice abou =t that and for opening day we got seats back to back I believe 6 in each row way up in Terrace Reserve 425. For the last home game we got 4 seats on the aisle in the Lodge Bleachers section 237.

Over all I think we did well with the tickets and for the most part got what we wanted. For both games we paid less than we did last year just for the opening day tickets we got off ebayhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

If you are thinking about tailgating next year do it. It is a lot of fun and the people in line are all very nice die hard Brewer fans Just make sure to stay warm and wear lots of layers and a good pair of winter boots.

Oh yeah as for news coverage we were interviewed on Wednesday night by channel 12. interviewed by I think 12 again on Thursday morning and TMJ4 came and took some video of both tents and but no interview. Other stations came and interviewed other people down the line. On Friday channel 58 sent a reporter to come and a tape a opener and closer for their Arctic Tailgate segment. So they basically had her (Diane) siting behind tent #1's Brewer themed table and we were standing/sitting all around Diane to make a nice back drop. After they got those shots done for the local news Diane told us they needed to do another opener and closer the same lines again I think for the segment that they were going to send to CNN. It was really cool to be taped for CNN. One guy standing right behind Diane shotgunned a beer for each take we did which was about 7. After we taped that we got Diane to drink with us http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif The only news related person who took us up on the offer. Someone made her a Whiskey Sour.

Well their is my really long and horribly written story to sum up my Arctic Tailgate. If I had remembered to bring my camera I would have taken pictures but I won't forget next year promise. If you want to ask me any questions go ahead.

Didn't see it myself but the guy on WTMJ said he was in an airport in Dallas Saturday watching CNN when they ran a story about fans lining up for Brewer tickets.

I believe season ticket holders get first crack at tickets for the Royals games, starting Monday morning. The Brewers sent an email to season ticket holders about it last week.

So when will they be available for regular joes like me who do not have a ticket package?

Hawing I checked CNN it is not on there the one that did air on CNN I was told from my uncle was just a slide show of pictures. He said it was on late at night and may have missed part of it because he was in another room when it came on.

Here is the CBS 58 segment which we taped before they did the CNN one. When the camera man pans the camera across the group of people at the end right before Diane says her last lines I am the guy that is to the left of her taking a drink of beer. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif They said they video just gets sent to CNN and they might use it or not.
