I can't get rid of spyware

I let my buddy's kid use my computer for like three minutes and it became crippled with spyware. I got rid of some of it but there are two things that I can't get rid of even when the spyware scan I'm running says they're removed. One is called Virtumonde and the other something like Security Desktop Toolbar Scam. Any suggestions? Anyone want to come over to my house and fix it?

I got Virtumondo off of my laptop with Vundofix.exe. You can find it here. You probably already tried it, but restore your system to an earlier time if you haven't already.

I used to use a free program called Search and Destroy. Worked like a charm.

I still use a freeware program called Ad-Aware. Works amazingly. Detects and removes.

If none of that works or there is still some left over I'd go to this site I and into the forums. They're extremely helpful.

Thanks for the suggestions. I ran AdAware & SpyBot S&D & something called CounterSpy which picked up what they didn't. I'll try Vundofix.exe & the fourms at spywarewarrior. Thanks.

There is a free version, they just don't make it easy to find on the site because they want you to buy the version that costs money. The version you got is probably one that monitors your computer and prevents spyware, while the free version will find it and remove it after the fact.
