My question would be if it wasn't a dunk then what was it? It wasn't a jumpshot, it wasn't a layup. The definition of a dunk says it was a dunk but some say it's not a dunk.

It was like a hard over hand lay up. its like if a guy at the other end of the court jumped and threw the ball, its just further away.

I don't understand why you feel a dunk necessitates the shooting hand touching the rim. Care to expand?

How is it a layup though? A layup means you're laying the ball up to the hoop, his hand/the ball was over the hoop thus making it impossible for him to lay it up.

because I think a dunk should be touching the rim, your rockin the hoop. not throwing the ball in from 2 ft away. If you're more than 2 ft away, its just another shot, although this one was more forceful.

 

I think the definition of the dunk should be changed.

 

 

like I said, it was cool, athletic and everything else, just not a dunk to me.
