Haha, this is where I lived while going to UW-Milwaukee. It burned down the day before the shootings at Columbine, April 19th 1999. I can't believe it is still a grass lot. Yikes.

And later in the month someone else didn't use the search feature before they started a new thread.
The two threads are merged now. The funny thing is that you posted to the old thread. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

You want to get freaked out?

Go to google's home page. Type your land line phone number in the search box with no dashes (1234567890). If you are listed in the phone book, your name and address will then show up. It will easily link you to the google map of your house, where you can now see the outside of your house. And most cities are now putting their property value information online. So you can also go to the city's page, enter your address, and see information about the house. If you go to Cudahy's website and know my address you can see how much I paid for the house, how much my parents paid for it in 86, what kind of heating and ac I have, the dimentions of the house, the dimentions of the garage, etc.

We're getting closer and closer to 1984.

However, a lot of times they are a house off. If you type in my address (or do it via phone number as you suggested), it shows my next door neighbors house. My boss said that it's the same thing when he types in his address (it's one house off).

It's not what people can currently see with this stuff that bothers me .........(well yeah, it actually kinda does) but what they'll eventually be able to see with the technology improving at a rapid pace. The pics in my town are pretty new, and you can see and read the license plate on both vehicles in my driveway. I honestly don't know why this stuff is needed/useful for any reason other than to violate/invade someone's privacy.

Yes, you can look at the location you're going to and have a good idea of what you're looking for, so it makes a place easier to find. It makes me wonder how the heck we got around without this stuff before the internet.

Well, I'll take scant comfort in the Googling of our phone number leading to a picture of the house 4-5 houses away (and conveniently the most rundown house on our block, so maybe would be thieves will just overlook us).
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I think when I build my house I'll just surround the lot with those Cedar hedges... 12 feet tall and barricade myself in.

Google doesn't understand my address!

They haven't street viewed our area yet either (we're sort of "out of the way")
