In truth, I haven't thought about Lumpy in many many years, but the Leave it to Beaver gang was part of my childhood (in reruns) during the 1970s.

 

I liked dimwitted Lumpy. There was probably a guy like that in every school & neighborhood. A big, dopey hang around kind of kid who you were somewhat forced to have a friendship with, just because of circumstances. Frank Bank did a good job of bringing that kind of kid to the tv audience.

 

Glad that he lived a long-ish life, unlike many child actors.

 

May he rest in peace.
