Softball Team #2 Details -Getting Going-

I know it probably seems like I'm making a push for the Friday night team, but my guess is that league is a lot less competitive as it is a social league. All of the 100 leagues are the upper leagues in the city with the "Power" being the top.

Sorry, I want to change my vote to the Friday league. I just remembered how often I want to go out for a drink (or ten) after the game, but have to work early the next day.

It looks like Friday is pretty well agreed upon, so let's go with Friday. I'll need people to help throw down some startup cash to cover our league fees, as well as to pick up some practice balls. I'll give more detail when I have it.

What positions does everyone play? I can do 1B, 2B, 3B, C, or corner outfield (though I'm not the most fleet of foot).

 

I'm also in agreement with playing Friday nights so we don't get creamed in the ultra-competitive leagues.

That list looks right. The main question is, can anybody pitch? I'm sure we'll be more than able to sort out positions during practices. Either way, I'm just glad there was enough interest to do this.

 

I would like it if the team all got jerseys (similar to team 1), but I won't make it mandatory to help keep costs down.

Well I pitch if anyone can remember my patheticness last year. I am ok if I can cut down the walks. I think I will be a lot better at it this year after getting a "full season" under my belt. So I will throw my name out there to pitch, that would be my first option on the team. Otherwise throw me anywhere but Left Field.

i work for a small embroidery company part-time. It's family-owned so I can get some good prices on shirts/jerseys, if everyone wants to do that. Same goes for team 1 also, if you don't already have jerseys. I'm been doing this for the last 6 years, so I can create just about any kind of logo for cheap.

Drick, if you can keep prices close to that, it may be tempting. Though it also might be nice to keep some uniformity between teams (if either team needs a fill-in player, they'd already have the correct jersey).

I'm out for Fridays, just too much stuff going on on the weekends for me to be a reliable participant.

OK nevermind then. I like those and we should have the same look for both teams. My idea was going to be: that fan logo embroidered on the left-front, name & number screen printed on the back. That would roughly cost around $30 for that same type of shirt, about $35 for a jersey style shirt.

 

So I guess we'll stick with the current ones, although someone has my number 23! I'm calling that number for our team, since I'm guessing that guy is on the first team.

 

We should get yellow sleeves, if that's possible to make it an option.
