Italy HATES my FLICKR! Latest - Brewers 2011 spring training. - Kentrail!!

EdgarDiazRocks

i'm totally middlebrow.

I shoot a Canon 5D (MkI), a Canon 7D, a Canon 30D and the Hipstamatic iPhone App.

It's taken awhile, and a patient wife to accumulate the bodies and glass.

I also use photoshop everyday for a living so that helps.

So, you still use the Canons. I was starting to think you had gone fully hipsta.
The 7D is the new purchase, for it's HD Video for taking cute movies of my new daughter, problem is, on the photo side, the camera raw files are in a new format that only Photoshop CS4 can read. I have that at home, but at work where I do a lot of my processing I only have CS3 so half of my stuff I can't work on there. It's been a little frustrating.

I've also been a little frustrated lately with my candids which are kinda my bread and butter, when I pull the 70-200 f/2.8 lens outta the bag, people really get offended. nobody seems to care when the iphone makes an appearance. I guess I just need to find someone who WANTS to have me take their picture.

I have no clue how to make that happen.

Since this is kind of turning into a photography thread, I just picked up a Nikon D5000 and have been trying to take some good pictures of my kid (around three months). Today was the first day he experienced being on the grass. I edited it with GIMP (a free editing software).

finally back and processing. THAT was fun. We actually had a better time at the minor league complexes....except the Indians, they were tight with the access. Gonna take me awhile to process these.

How do you get away with using the 70-200 for street photography? Seems like pulling out that kind of glass would scare people away.

It's really challenging. A lot I do out the car window paparazzi style as I drive throught downtown on my way home from work. Sometimes it works in your favor 'tho as people become aware of it and you get THAT reaction in the candid.

Nice pics, EDR. I bought a Canon T2i about six months ago. I have used it almost exclusively for video so far (shot several shorts for school with it) and love the picture. Just starting to get into lenses and what not.

Just starting to get into lenses and what not.

The beginning of the end.

Ha! No kidding. It's really addictive. Once you get that first shallow depth of field shot that looks like something out of a real magazine you're hooked.
