Weather nerdyness during this cold snap

Barrow, AK: 16

When our current cold air was over Barrow, Alaska last week, I believe their low temperature was about -47 F with a high of around -20 F. Notably, despite their current temperature of 16, they are in a blizzard warning with snow and winds to 45 mph.

So maybe we don't have it that bad ;-)

45 and clear skies here in Sin City. I've gotten by so far without needing a winter jacket.

I was in Vegas Nov 30-Dec 3

 

Day 1 it rained all day and was maybe 41

 

I was walking around in shorts and a t shirt, wondering why everyone said it was so cold. I finally ran into a guy from Utah who had shorts on as well. Again showing my nerdyness, it was warmer in Chicago that night than it was in Vegas.

It actually got up to 55 and sunny at game time...I was thinking about taking off my hoodie.
