Is Counsell really needed now?

His batting stance looks weird, but he really doesn't stay in it that long. He ends up in almost the same loaded batting position as most players do just before swinging.

Every time I see someone complain about Counsell's stance, I always think how ironic it is some guy who is typing at a message board is critical of a guy who has spent a decade plus in the big leagues.

 

Corey Hart will never have any success because his elbow is all wrong when he swings. Ryan Braun has a hitch in his swing.

 

I think it's safe to say that if it got you to the big leagues, keep doing it.

How hard is Counsell to replace?

 

Not hard based on today's news.

Abraham Nunez isn't replacing Counsell this year. If Nunez shows something to the Brewers this year in AAA and/or the bigs (I'd almost assume that he'd make it up at some point), he might take over Counsell's roster spot next year.
