HR and RBI Predictions

brewtank34

Last year Giants' announcer, David Flemming, introduced a game against the Brewers by calling them a team built for the homerun. "They live and die by the homerun," I believe he said. This had me pretty disappointed as it seemed so limiting to label them as one dimensional as this. I'm guessing he's not the only one to make this observation. And though it certainly was not an intentional building strategy, it seems to have a bit of truth...especially if some of the above numbers are close to accurate.

Perhaps a year or two of offensive success will lead to a different, more respectful description?

I'm going to guess Hardy and Weeks combine for 30 hr. Hart, Hall and Cameron have 20 - 25 hr each. Braun around 40, Fielder around 45.

Kendall, 3.

"Live and die by the HR" sounds more like an announcer who doesn't see the team play very often... but to a certain extent, that was true last year. The OBP boost this coming season will do away with that misnomer - except that the HRs are going to be much more of the multi-HR variety. I think it's safe to say that Prince will easily eclipse his RBI total of 110 from 2007. Weeks, Fielder, Braun, and Hart all have decent shots at scoring 100+ runs.
