Brewers Spring Training Questions

nodderman

Hey all,

My Grandma who is a BIG Brewers fan recently decided to perhaps look into heading down to Arizona to see the Brewers in Spring Training. They are looking to travel March 5-12. Nobody from our family has ever been down there for Spring training and we dont know if we are too late to book for hotels or not. Does anybody have information about tours for spring training or hotels that are good for two older ladies to travel to that they could handle? They are 75 years old, but VERY young at heart and able to travel. Any information would be greatly appreciated as we'd love for her to travel down there and have a blast. Thanks!

I wouldn't really worry about staying super close to the park. There isn't really anything around it. We try to stay in a different part of town each year to experience different parts of Phoenix. There are tons of nice "artists communities" and cutsie tourist places within a 40 minute drive. A quick google search should help you track down what you're looking for.

Shouldnt be too late for hotels. There are alot of new hotels coming up in the West Valley by the Cardinals Stadium due to the Super Bowl. I wouldnt recommend staying in the Maryvale area (where the ballpark is) as it is one of the less desirable areas in the Phoenix metro. . I am not sure about any tours for spring training but some of the hotels have shuttles which may offer transportation between the park and hotels. I would look into airfare the sooner you can because March is generally a heavy travel season(spring breakers and snowbirds) between MKE,MSP and the Chicago areas.

Thanks for this information. I'm trying to see if there is a hotel that has a shuttle to Maryvale stadium and back. That is my primary concern. Knowing that she can get to and from the stadium safely, and good ideas of how to do that really help.

Will echo the sentiment to stay away from staying in Maryvale. Really not the best place. Not really hard to drive to the stadium, plenty of parking. Not sure of anywhere that offers a shuttle, they may have taxis though.
