Brewers Near Deal With Cameron!

bobbledude25

Just reported on ESPN...

The Milwaukee Brewers are on the verge of an agreement with center fielder Mike Cameron, according to major league sources.

Cameron, 34, hit 21 homers and drove in 78 runs for the Padres last year. He will miss the first 25 games of the 2008 season, as he serves a suspension under the terms of baseball's drug-testing program.

Cameron would presumably play center field for the Brewers, who have reportedly spoken with Bill Hall, the team's center fielder last year, about moving to third base. If that happens, Ryan Braun would shift from third base to left field.

Buster Olney is a senior baseball writer for ESPN The Magazine.

this is kind of like the linebrink deal. i knew our pen was better with him instead of balfour but that doesnt mean its a great move. we are better with braun in left, hall at 3rd and cameron in cf, but this could still bite us back big time.
