Sam's Power Ten

1. Yo Gallardo

2. Ryan Braun - Defensive deficiencies prevent him from holding the top spot.

3. Will Inman

4. Zach Jackson - Better pitchers in the system, but he's the closest to Milwaukee

5. Angel Salome

6. Manny Parra

7. Cole Gillespie

8. Tim Dillard - Whatever he's doing, its working. Deserves more respect than he gets.

9. Mark Rogers - It's time we see some results.

10. Jeremy Jeffress

EDIT: Dillard down two from 6 to 8.

1. Braun - position player over pitching injury thing

2. Gallardo- Interesting to see how long till he sees Milwaukee

3. Inman- injury scares last season have taken some shine off

4. Parra- total man crush thing. If he's every healthy, look out

5. Zach Jak- Not down on him as some are

6. Rogers- last seasons super nova stretch has me going

7. Gillespe- Hope to see Cole in Huntsville this year

8. Angel- would be higher, but the ankle injury is SCARY!!

9. Jeffress- 100 mph? Ok I'll let it go this time.

10. Hurricane- Repeated success, even without a corked bat.

11. Fermaint- other prospects are scared of Chuck.

12. Denny Sarfate- destined to make in Milwaukee in ' 07.

13. Vinny- Mad Wisconsinite love. Number crunch not good.

24. Josh Wapepah- Sinker baller who needs to right the ship.

25. Steve Hammond-Probably should've been higher, I'm dumb

26. Robert Hinton- Lit up the Arizona Fall League, impressive.

27. Steve Moss- Starting to lose the faith, bring me back man.

28. Andy Bouchie- Proably should be beneath Lou, oh well.

I am fairly new to the forum, but is the Power 50 a ranking of Prospects, or who is the next to get to the bigs? As for the earlier discussion of Inman, I watched him this season before injury and after, and my take on him is that not only does he have talent, but he is a smart pitcher. From where my seats are here in WV, I could see him in the dugout between innings, and he appears to approach the game in a manner that is way beyond his years along with his talent. I saw Yo here the year before as well, and I think at least at the A ball level, Inman truly compares with Yo, and actually just to watch his mental approach, impressed me more. He was truly dominant this year!

It is a ranking of prospects. And for the Record, he is RyDogg's top 20.

1. Ryan Braun (Due to the fact that he isn't a pitcher)

2. Yovanni Gallardo (Bigger upside than Braun and just as close, but he IS a pitcher)

3. Angel Salome

4. Will Inman

5. Charlie Fermaint

6. Cole Gillespie

7. Zack Jackson

8. Tony Gwynn, Jr (wasn't completely overmatched in Milwaukee last year, like I thought he would be)

9. Mark Rogers

10. Jeremy Jeffress

11. Tim Dillard (I think he tops out as MR)

12. Manny Parra

13. Hernan Irribarren (just doesn't excite me much)

14. Yohannis Perez (forgive me if I spelled his name wrong)

15. Lorenzo Cain (Just dont know a whole lot about him)

16. Dennis Sarfate (what is he?)

17. Brent Brewer (please dont go all Josh Murray on us)

18. Mat Gamel

19. Vinny Rotino

20. Steve Hammond

Here is my attempt at a top 20

1. Ryan Braun

2. Yovanni Gallardo

3. Will Inman

4. Mark Rogers

5. Jeremy Jeffress

6. Cole Gillespie

7. Angel Salome

8. Lorenzo Cain

9. Charlie Fermaint

10. Zach Jackson

11. Tim Dillard

12. Dennis Sarfate

13. Hernan Iribarren

15. Brent Brewer

16. Rolando Pascual

17. Omar Aquilar- this guy is going to impress this year

18. Steve Hammond

19. Alcides Escobar

20. R.J. Seidel- for some local flavor not named Vinny Rotino

I also think Errecart could also make a huge push up the power 50 this year.

I hope his Angel Echevarria-esque name is the least of our problems when he comes up sometime in '08.

I hope he comes up in 2008. I've been convinced Palmisano won't see the big leagues since his disappointing season in the Midwest League. I hope he or the Rookie Ball Walks machine (was it Bouchie???) is able to pan out. I'm at the point where I'd be tempted to take every struggling player who might get cut, and give them a try at catcher in extended spring training.

Watched Angel all season in WV, and he has the talent to be a good big league catcher if the ankle heals. He has an absolute cannon of an arm, and his biggest struggle right now is just his age, and inside his own head. When he's going good, he can take the ball to all fields.....has some power but I think more will develop as he ages. When things aren't going so well at the plate, it seems he just struggles more in his head because he is trying so hard. Seems to be a great guy, and plays extremely hard.
