PC Madden trouble

okay, not sure how many people can help out with this but I've searched on football-freaks.com and other places and can't figure this one out.

 

I recently re-installed Madden 06 so I could play PC football again. The game ran well, as of Dec. 15th--the last time it worked properly. Today, when I fired it up, the gameplay ran incredibly fast. I knew this was a vertical sync issue (seeing as I've seen and read about it in so many other online game forums) so I made sure vertical sync was on in madden. It was.

 

Then I checked if vertical sync was set properly for my video card. It was.

 

So I uninstalled and reinstalled. Same issue.

I uninstalled and reinstalled video card drivers. Same issue.

 

Strangely, this is the only game series that does this. America's Army runs fine. MVP 2005 runs fine. Tiger Woods 06 runs fine. But both Madden 06 and Madden 05 run super fast--totally unplayable.

 

I even did a system restore to Dec. 15th, since it ran fine on that date. No dice--it still had the problem.

 

So, I am completely at a loss of what to do now. I'm pretty computer savvy but this one has me stumped. Short of changing something in the registry, that is, and I wouldn't know where to start there. Again, it sounds like a video issue, since it is only with the Madden series that this is happening.

 

Anybody have any ideas? I know many of you do not "game" on your PCs.
