What are you asking for Christmas

I would like to see what other people are asking for Christmas, I am 16 and I asked for a laptop, PS3, and other things like that. What are you asking for and what are some tradations you do? I wake up around 8 and open gifts when everybody else is up than we go to my grandpas.

Nothing, my family and I agreed to just take the money we were going to spend on each other and just buy toys for Toys for Tots.

I didn't go that far, but grandmas church also has a toys for poor kids program and i bought two toys for it and so did others in our family. As for Toys for Tots, i used to play softball on a team mostly made up with Marines and they helped a lot with the Toys for Tots program. They were a great bunch of guys and it's a wonderful program/charity, guys on the team always bought a few toys and gave it to them. In a wealthy country like the US, no kid should have to go without at least one nice gift for Christmas.

 

I was never around when those Marines gave out some of those toys for Christmas, but i do know the guys took great pride in helping and i'm sure seeing the smile on a kids face getting the toy had to make the time spent well worth it.

this is a great idea, but all I could think about after reading this was the scene in Three Amigos! where they are in the bed talking about what they're going to blow their reward on--living the high life, traveling to Paris--and then Ned pipes in that he's going to give to the orphanage or something. Then the other two start up with, "well, yeah, I suppose I'd do that other stuff AFTER I give to children," in an awkward way.

It was just funny to me that others were talking about their great gift wants and then we hear a toys for tots message. I half expected this scene to play out. It did in my mind.
