Catalanotto now in play?

And third, you're using a sample size that's not even a full year.

In many cases it is not prudent to let a larger sample develop just for the sake of having a larger sample size.

I just put absolutely no stock in defensive stats as they're completely flawed IMO.

I think this reaction is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I don't think anyone here thinks that our current defensive metrics are near complete, regardless flawed metrics do not make an argument for Braun being an adequate 3bman

You certainly don't need any more than the naked eye to determine that Braun was completely unfit to be a MLB 3Bman in 2007. Even if he improved drastically (highly unlikely in just one offseason), he'd still be well below average.

Braun is to a bad player what a bad player is to an average player. He was in a class of his own in the field. There used to be 3 types of defenders, good, bad and average. He wasn't even good enough to be grouped with the bad players.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

You've got the gym class team captains, the first picks couple picks, the last few picks that nobody really wants on their team, and then the kid or two they don't let play. Braun was of the latter.

I certainly never suggested he was. I don't deny he was an awful 3rd basemen last year. There's no question about that. I'm simply arguing the metrics that say that he's unable to reach very many balls hold no value to me.
