Hologram verifacation help...(ASI) ?

The only thing I can tell you about Authentic Sports Incorporated (ASI) is that it seems like a pretty shady "company" Let me rephrase that, there are - at best - a LOT of conflicts of interest issues here.

The best I can tell is it's run by a guy who started three businesses; one to buy sports memorabilia and authenticate it (ASI), another to verify the authenticity (ESA), and one to resell the memorabilia. Basically the guy is authenticating his own stuff and reselling it through various ebay accounts and an (otherwise legitimate) auction house (website).

Each claims to be a separate entity - independently owned and operated and in no way affiliated with one another - even though all three of the "companies" operate from the same address (which thanks to google earth I discovered is in house in a residential neighborhood in Florida). Also, each had websites in the past that were registered to the same person.

There have been accusations of shill bidding on ebay as well. I know of at least one active ebay account belonging to these guys. Every once in a while they go on a big ebay shopping sprees gobbling up game used equipment. At one point someone tracked down a couple of ebay accounts to these guys (and the buyers they frequently won items from) and tracked their buying habits. What they supposedly discovered is that items purchased on ebay without authentication were later showing up in this guys auction house and even back on ebay (under an second account) as authentic and obtained through credible channels demanding much higher prices.

Believe it or not I discovered a round about connection to a member of this site and people concerned with this whole ASI/ESA/Historic Auctions thing. I won't say who it is because NOTHING has been proven. But it was quite the surprise when I stumbled upon it. It's not an active member so I don't feel bad for bringing it up. And no, I'm not telling.

Oh, and to answer your question - I don't know of anyplace to authenticate anything from ASI. Sorry. That doesn't mean they authenticate bogus stuff, just that there is something shady with the way they operate. The seller you bought the shoes from is NOT one of the ebay accounts I've seen associated with any funny business. Everything in your auction seems good.

I should also note that most of this info is at least a year old. So maybe everything I just posted here has been explained and I just haven't heard it yet.
