Converting DVDs to PSP movies

Has anyone tried to do this? -- I bought my son a PSP for Xmas, and I wonder if it is possible to put a DVD he owns on it for him -- and if it is possible how hard it is to do

I'm assuming you have a DVD burner to rip the original. I know their are programs out their that allow you to convert files. A friend at work does it so I'll ask him what he uses the next time I see him.

i know the psp's take umd's (universal media disks) so i am not sure if it is possible.Can't say i have tried though. My only thought would be to see if there is a device that allows you to plug in a memory card into a flash drive and transfer it that way. I know you can do it with cell phones, not sure if psp's have a similar setup.

yeah -- I want to put the movies on a memory stick-- not onto a UMD disc

Check out DVDFab Platinum. I think it does what you want it to do. I don't know anything about the PSP and the disks or drives it takes. But this software will convert DVDs to a format compatible with the PSP.
