Favorite 80's Hair Metal Album/CD

TURBO

Some of my favorite 80's hair metal cds were by bands that were not my favorite bands, but put out a great album or 2... Let's not make top 10 lists, let's keep it to your favorite and an honorable mention.

That being said, here is mine:

VAIN - No Respect

honorable mention:

KEEL - The Final Frontier

I played the heck out of these 2 albums...

I'm going to have to go with none of them. Unless DLR Van Halen counts.

no way man, Van Halen stand on their own, they should never be lumped into the hair metal catagory.

however, DLR solo "Eat 'em and Smile" definately fits into that catagory. I saw him with cinderella in Madison in the mid 80's and that concert was pure heaven for me at the time. David put on one hell of a show, the guy was just so full of positive energy. Cinderella was just releasing their NIGHT SONGS album at the time and they were dynamite live!

good times.

sammy solo = awesome stuff

sammy with VH = not so awesome.

I've seen Hagar interviewed a few times, he seemed like a cool laid back dude and he loves tequila as i do. Musically though, i don't find anything very appealing whether it's is solo work or with Van Halen.

To be fair to him, it's never easy for any guy to take over lead vocals after a very popular lead singer gets the boot. IMO David Lee Roth was the Jim Morrison of The Doors or Steven Tyler of Aerosmith , to important to be replaced. I know Eddie and his brothers liked to think they were what made Van Halen great and Roth was fairly easily replaceable, not to me he wasn't.

Off the top of my head the only lead singer to replace an icon well was Brian Johnson replacing Bon Scott in AC/DC.
