Hey, I've used bittorrent in the past with roadrunner and haven't had any issues. Recently, I've ramped up my bittorrent usage using Azureus as my client. It seems that my internet connection gets dropped every hour or so if I'm using it. I've ramped down my upload settings so that I'm only uploading 25kb/s max. I've also severely limited my number of connections.

 

Is anyone else having issues recently like this? Would anyone be willing to share the Azureus settings they use, or perhaps enlighten me on a better way to go about this?

 

(and no, I'm not pirating movies/software/music, so let's not go down that path of discussion)

I had issues in the past and limiting uploads really seemed to do it. Not sure if its a roadrunner thing as much as an individual computer thing. Basically Bittornado seems to work at any computer but the same computer would crap out at using utorrent or Azureus while on another computer on the network they work fine.

I've always had more success and faster download speeds with BitTornado. Azureus seems to be more of a bandwidth hog IMO.

I think I might have found an answer on this one. There's a problem with the Motorola Surfboard SB4x00 series of cable modems where too many open connections will make it crash. I've had downloads going for a couple of hours now with a lower number of connections, and it seems to be stable (but slower). I'll probably call TWC tomorrow to see if I can get a newer series of modem.

use utorrent. It seems to handle incoming requests better. I stopped use azureus because of this problem.
