I have wondered why this coach has never made it up the Minor League ranks of the Brewer organization. I talked with him a few times back when he was hitting coach for the Beloit Snappers and he seemed to be a very serious coach and always had something insightful to say when I asked him some questions about the team, unlike Don Money.

Now I find out he is the new manager of the Brewers' rookie team in Arizona. Does he want to stay in the lower levels, or does the organization believe he is well suited as role of mentor for the younger guys? I also checked out his minor league stats and he seemed to have a lot of valuable experience as a player in the minors.
