They must have pounded on Iguchi quickly, as I don't remember seeing his name linked to the Pads at all.

Good, Iguchi at 3B is not really better than counsell in my opinion.

This makes me happy. I was pretty worried when the rumors were flying that a contract offer from the Brewers for Iguchi was imminent. Somehow, Tad Iguchi just doesn't do anything for me. Sure, he might put up okay numbers, but for a team that will hopefully be competing for a World Series, I want to see good production at 3B. To me, Iguchi wouldn't have been any better than taking a flyer on Joe Dillon as the starting 3B. I even think that internal options, such as a Billy Hall move, or elevating Adam Heether (a terrific defensive 3B that may develop into a quality hitter at the MLB level) or Brad Nelson (a nice hitter that may or may not have the athleticism to play a passable 3B). Also Mat Gamel and Taylor Green are further down, but are both decent prospects.
