Ben Geelan (a catcher from Iowa for those interested) definitely has some pro chances. Not much, since he hasn't really hit and isn't expected to start hitting overnight, but he's always had a very strong arm and is considered a leader behind the plate. Strong defensive catchers (although Geelan's D' is highlighted by his strong arm as he has things he could improve) always have a chance to have a modest pro career in the lower levels of a system. I'm guessing he would max out around A-ball as he may have a hard time hitting .200, but there's nothing wrong with that.

 

Basically, he's a late pick if he does get picked up via the draft, and there's a chance he could be a non-drafted free agent and may be a prime candidate to play with an indy league team.
