Drew Anderson

if He's Stellar at AAA and there are a few injuries, there's a chance.

The question is do you really want to see Hart or Hall, or Jenkins or Hart or some combination thereof go down to see Drew be called up? I don't. Personally, I'm hoping that after May we realize that the platoons are working and out outfield is stellar.

Edit: Wow I used 'stellar' two times in one post...bringing my usage of stellar up to 2 on the year.....I hope I never type that word again..

I don't want to see any of those players go down neccessairly. But it would be nice to dump some dead weight salary in Clark or Mench and pay Anderson 100,000 to be the 5th outfielder and use the money elsewhere. Just a thought.

I think he is squeezed by the presence of Gross and Clark right now, and maybe even Nix and Gwynn. All of those guys are potential backups who can play various positions, pinch hit, etc. Gwynn, Gross and Nix also bat lefty, and probably have more defensive value in CF. Clark of course has a guaranteed contract. Nix may or may not be in Anderson's way, depending on his health and how much he hits.

The good news is that Anderson has options, and that things should clear up considerably next year...Clark and Jenkins will be free agents, and the status of others should be resolved, at least to some extent. Though things could get worse for him if Braun is moved to LF...a major league outfield of Braun, Hall, and Hart would be a tough nut to crack, with Gross as a top backup and designated lefty.

Anderson would have a possibility of a future with the Brewers if he was RH for a future platoon with Gross or in case of a Mench trade. But since he isn't, he's depth. His best hope is that he has a huge year in AAA causing him to get traded some place to get a chance to play

Drew's a good hitter, but his hitting skill set doesnt really match his defensive position...i think the brewers will get him some more at bats this year, but he projects to have a .750-.800 ops in the majors, so its not likely that he'll ever be a starter
