BA's Brewer Report

I don't recall ever hearing anything about his attitude. Was anything ever reported on this?

I seem to recall Ned Yost complaining that Eveland often loses his focus out on the mound. In one interview, Eveland himself admitted that he is better off when the manager gets in his face on a more regular basis.

I also remember when Zach Jackson replaced Eveland in the rotation, Daron Sutton really went out of his way to point out how Jackson looked like he belonged in the big leagues compared to guys like Eveland and Hendrickson. Sutton was referring to the overall mound presence and basically implied that Eveland didn't have it.

I was making the comp more on their maturity in the minors. I apologize for the misleading statement. Nevertheless, ZachJack, not a year ago, was a few majorleague innings away from where Garza was, and ZJ is a southpaw to boot.

How does BA's prospect handbook compare to Prospectus 2007 and Sickel's Baseball Prospect Book? Or is it even an apples to apples comparison? Are there other resources out there worth cosidering? Just curious where people's allegiances lie. Thanks.

Read them all and they are all good. I love Sickels myself I think he finds some lower guys and gives you some good insight.

I really wish you would have printed the top prospect TRIO list, as I couldn't believe the exception in there. Inman is...UNBELIEVABLE! He almost went an entire year without giving up a HR. He kept his ERA under TWO for most of the year! And he is, of course, the state of Virginia's record holder for K's...and he k's in the minors with ease. In a recent survey of our top prospects, I put Inman #1, over Yo, though I did it more to simply be different, my defense was inarguable. He's a stout stud who is a true....young....PITCHER. When Maddux gets in touch with the kid, it is going to be an over-crowded bandwagon, moreso probably because Prince, Rickie, and THE KID are raking in an infield, hopefully joined Isreal's finest from the U. Nevertheless...

1. OF Delmon Young, 3B Evan Longoria, SS Reid Brignac (Devil Rays)

2. OF Justin Upton, OF Chris Young, OF Carlos Gonzalez (Diamondbacks)

3. RHP Homer Bailey, OF Jay Bruce, 1B Joey Votto (Reds)

4. 3B Alex Gordon, OF Billy Butler, RHP Luke Hochevar (Royals)

5. 3B Andy LaRoche, LHP Clayton Kershaw, LHP Scott Elbert (Dodgers)

Perhaps he just wanted to showcase some Dodger love and he didn't go ten deep either. But nevertheless, Inman is getting no respect. Nevertheless, if you had to rank AAA rotations, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better one than ours.
