Fair enough. I was incomplete with that. He does swing and miss quite a bit. I think he is injury insurance at best

Great post, Greg. I agree with everything you said, and I'll project that out as to why they "got rid" of Nix as opposed to Drew Anderson. At least Drew has some room to grow. Nix is what he is... a guy young enough for crappy teams to take a chance. Drew might be useful if the Crew goes down a few outfielders because he still has an option.

All that said, if the Brewers do go down a few guys and there's a 40-man spot, I wouldn't be shocked to see Nix brought back up. Melvin has a weird obsession with him.

Why? In another thread, he was told (regarding the Riske signing) that "ripping it apart now and calling it a stupid signing is pure 20/20 hindsight." I think it's legit that he dug up this thread to defend himself. If anything needs to be given a rest, it's the accusations that every criticism of Melvin is merely revisionist history.
