billy hall debate

TURBO

Bill Hall is one of those ballplayers that when you are at your drunkest and you decide to comment in BF.net, you can't possibly spell his name wrong. That has to be worth something.

Yours truely,

Ed Ott

That's a hilarious post, and what makes it even funnier -- I'm not being anal, I mean this admiringly -- is that you spelled "truly" wrong.

The thing with Bill Hall is that he is a polarizing player. I say that because when he is on, he is on and looking amazing doing it. When he is bad, he is bad and looks horrible doing it. I would go so far as to compare him to a Geoff Jenkins TYPE hitter. I am not saying he is Jenkins but they do have similar styles and that is why some people love him and some people don't.

Fans hate to see players strike out and Bill does that a lot. Fans love to see players hit home runs and again, that is one of his strengths. He is flashy and that sometimes overshadows that he is simply a solid slightly above average player. 2006 was a great year for him but that was his career year. 2007 was probably a low spot for him. He will settle in somewhere between those numbers. Not amazing but not bad by any means.

As further proof that he is a polarizing player, just loook at the posts below me and see how I get ripped apart for calling BH slightly above average http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
