I do not mean to be a jerk but everyone of those trades are awful, we give up too much in all of them.

Sheets is a FA next year. He's injury prone. Crawford for Sheets is plenty fair.

Haren is a good #2 starter. Villanueva isn't worth Haren straight up, Parra is a minor leaguer - so to me it's fair. You have to make it worth Oaklands time. I'm sure Oakland would rather have Hall for Haren though, and I'd do that in a second.

Broxton is a great RP. You don't have to worry about him being a pitchers park product. He was an elite prospect before he ever made it to the bigs, his stuff is awesome. Some even say Broxton should be starting because his stuff is so good. He's a soon to be stud closer anyway. He's worth Hall for sure. My guess is the Dodgers would be looking for starters or an OF, so who knows, but Hall seems to be a good fit for them.

Why would the DRays want Sheets? They have a ton of excellent starting pitching now and just traded an outfielder for a starter. If you look at Villy's stats as a starter, he was very good. Not to mention he is very young and very cheap. Parra is a top prospect who is left handed and throws high 90s. Oakland would be dumb to turn that one down. I would trade Hall for Haren but not sure why Oakland would. You think Hall is worth more than Villy and Parra? Again on the last trade would be why would the Dodgers want another outfielder when the rumors are that they are trying to get rid of one or two of them. The only way it makes sense is if they want him to play 2b and then you have a good case.

Why would the Drays want Sheets? They don't. But the Yankees do. The Brewers, Yanks, and DRays were talking about a 3 way deal - sheets was reportedly involved in that deal. The key players involved: The Yanks would get Sheets, We'd get Crawford, and the DRays get Houghs or Chamberlain or some other prospect. (can't recall who)

i don't think crawford is getting traded only cause they got rid of Young, and acquired Garza who will be part of the rotation. I'd do Bell for Gwynn. I am fine if Rolen comes here, but the cards would have to pick up some of salary, which i don't think they are motivated to do. I'd like to see one more reliever acquired. We don't know if Wise is going to recover and McClung is shaky at best. The fact that we are talking about a pen that includes Choate, Aquino, and Mota scares me. Isn't Shouse a FA? Plus while he was effective last season, he is 39. This Pen is full of question marks and i wish Doug would consider to address it.

TigerBrew, i like your 2 moves. I would rather not go into the season with Chaote and Aquino in the pen. Maybe replace Bray or Pena with Aquino and i'd feel better. Also possibly Stetter for Chaote.

Weeks worst spot in the order would be Number 2...... You see when leading off Strikeouts DO NOT hurt you but in the 2 hole you need a guy that makes contact and can get the runners over if all else fails. Weeks cant do that.... the 2 hole is perfect for guys like Gwynn, Dillion, counsell, even Gross makes decent contact....but NOT Weeks

Parra is a top prospect and showed he could finally be healthy with great stuff and is a lefty...If you have to make a trade out of Villy and Parra I trade Villy before Parra...

BUT you do not trade BOTH of them

I'll throw my ideal winter deals into the mix

1-Sign Riske

2-Make the ATL trade (Sheets, Hall, & prospect (I'll say the Hurricane) for Francouer, Johnson, Soriano, & Reyes)

3-Trade for Haren

Something like Bush, Turnbow, Mench, Gamel, & Brantley for Haren. Bush has one more year of arby than Haren and was supposed to 'break-thru' last year. Moving into a pitcher's park won't hurt him. Oakland has had some injuries in their pen and Turnbow can setup or close if necessary (and can be dealt at the deadline). Apparently Oakland has some interest in Mench, hence why I included him. Gamel is the big bat and at the very least he can DH. Brantley seems like a Moneyball prospect.

4- Trade Capuano, Crabbe, & Hinton for Fuentes & OF Spilborghs. Two guaranteed years of Cappy should be worth more than 1 guaranteed year of Fuentes. Also, COL could use some help at 2b and Crabbe had a very nice season at AAA last year. Hinton is a minor league RP that may be good down the road. Spilborghs bats righty to offset Gross as backups and can play CF.

Lineup

Weeks

Johnson

Braun

Fielder

Hart

Francouer

Hardy

Kendall

Bench: Gross, Spilborghs, Dillon, Counsel, & Rivera

Rotation: Haren, Suppan, Gallardo, Villenueva, & Vargas (Parra to AAA for more seasoning and to prove he can stay healthy)

Bullpen: Reyes, Wise, Shouse, Mota, Riske, Soriano, & Fuentes

I would be very excited.
