Yikes. What are they hoping to give up in return? Some used jocks?

They have already had Jack Wilson -- I can't believe they would want him back.

I think you mean Morris, FtJ, unless that's a cloaked Eckstein joke.
Actually, IIRC, Wilson was a Cardinals prospect who was dealt for a reliever a few years back. Don't think he made it to the bigs with the Cards, but was probably AA or AAA.

Addendum:

From Baseball Cube:

"Drafted - Selected by St. Louis Cardinals in 9th Round (258th overall) of 1998 amateur entry draft (June-Reg) Jun 3,1998 - signed Jul 29,2000 - Traded by Cardinals to Pirates for Jason Christiansen. " He reached AA with the Redbirds.

Pirates would be unloding some serious cash and getting young arms. You have to like it from their point of view.

The Cards are still in win now mode, which I really don't think they have a realistic chance with Carpenter missing half of '08. Especially if they deal Rolen, as rumored.

Is Morris or Mulder the ace? Ick.
