Indians sign Masahide Kobayashi

splitterpfj

Cleveland has signed its first-ever Japanese free agent, reliever Masahide Kobayashi.

Kobyashi is a nine-year veteran of the Japanese Pacific League, he has been an effective pitcher over there, and this contract is not outrageous. I promise I won't say it every time a Japanese player signs, but if the Indians can attract an Asian free agent to Cleveland.....why not Milwaukee?

Doesn't he routinely win hot dog eating contests?
