As of 6:00 PM Friday, Madison has officially received 32.8 inches of snow since December 1. The record for snowfall in December is 35.0 inches (from 2000).

Come on, only 2.2 inches to go (for the tie, 2.3 for the record)! It would be lame to get this close and not go over the top.

Tornado warnings in racine kenosha, walworth, etc...

Unreal!

Yeah, I wasn't expecting the weather radio alarm to go off today, let alone multiple times.

According to the Milwaukee/Sullivan NWS office, the weather of the last two days is crazy.

Crazy. I was pulling into work in WAtertown today, and a big flash of lightning and thunder set the tone. Was shocked when I called Jenny (Who works in Kenosha) and said she won't be leaving work for a bit since there are tornado warnings. I think mother nature has gone crazy. AL GORE DID IT! :P

I've been in France for 10 days and I come back to find the weather just how I left it...cold. Then I see that there were tornadoes and 60-degree weather!!! Crazy.

Be prepared for a long-lasting arctic chill starting this weekend ;-)

Whats the situation looking for on Thursday? I have finals and hoping school gets cancelled. There's watches up to our north and west near Fond du Lac but none in the Milwaukee viewing area. Will that change or is it going to stay to our north and west? I live in Fond du Lac and how much snow are we looking at?

Snow event for tonight/Thursday:

Winter Storm Watch areas (Green Bay, Wisconsin Dells): 5-7"

Madison to Sheboygan areas: 3-6"

Janesville/Waukesha/Ozaukee: 2-4"

Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha: 1-3"

Snow should start after midnight in the WSW counties and spread eastward toward morning. Should be a fluffy snow and not too heavy, so major problems not anticipated. Another 1-2" of snow from a separate system is possible on Friday.

Packer forecast: Gametime temperature of +5 degrees, falling to almost 0 by the end of the game. Wind chills -10 to -20.

Has anyone else noticed that the date of FTJ's post is 1-18-2081? haha... it's only a 73 years and a day later than it was actually posted....but oh yeah...it is going to be a cold one in WI this weekend...brrr! At least they upgraded Madison's high for tomorrow from -2 to an even zero...it should help a lot.

For the most part, this cold doesn't bother me too much--it's the snow I hate.

Low of -12 this morning in Madison, -4 in Milwaukee.

Should get a few degrees lower than that tonight.

Also a good chance for 2-6" of snow on Monday to Monday night. Higher amounts look to be in the southern counties.
