Surfing in the off season

Iron Chef Napalm

I've found myself getting set in web surfing ways. Without baseball, it's becoming even more apparent. The same old sites and rss feeds are turning a bit bland. Digg and Stumbleupon can help, but I'd like to see what this community could come up with for interesting links they would like share.

My submission: Pandora.com

I had heard about it a number of years ago, but did not really have a good location to sit and listen to internet radio and never visited. I was reminded of it recently while watching a video on the Nokia n810 and decided to check it out. For someone with my limited musical knowledge it was impressive.

Listening to the radio is a chore. Dodging commercials and disliking 90% of what they play. XM is better, but is a pain to setup in my new car. Pandora simply plays the type of music I want to hear based on stuff I already like. Quick, free, painless, and effective. I now actually know of other bands that play stuff I like.

I'm always amazed by how much stuff I miss and thought it would be fun to start sharing.

I love Pandora, but there is not a single on there that I listen to that anyone here would enjoy.
