Bikeage77
they're everywhere, and we've tried everything...we take out the garbage regularly, but they mostly hang out by the sink...we have fly paper up and that kinda helps, but they keep growing in numbers, nothing in our house is rotting...any tips????

How to get rid of fruit flies

This has several ideas that look worth trying, if you haven't already.

If they're hanging out around the sink, I'd do some extra cleaning in and around, including (perhaps especially) the garbage disposal, if your sink has one.

I recently started using a combination of vinegar, baking soda and essential oil (I use lavender, there are lots of other scents) to clean the sink and drain. The vinegar and baking soda foam up and with the essential oil, and it's good at knocking down odors, at the very least.

I've got a book at home of earth friendly cleaner formulas; if you'd like me to check it this weekend, let me know.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

One thing that worked well for me. Drink three quarters of a beer. To the final quarter of the beer add a bit of dish soap. Leave it on the counter. The fruit flies will go inside the bottle to pig out on the beer, but the soap will cut the surface tension, and they'll fall in and drown.

I know, I know. Wasting beer is a horrible thing. But you do get to drink three quarters of it.
