Bucks beat Cavs in dramatic fashion

milwaukeesportsfan
Not necessarily. The lottery guards against "tanking" to a point. Look at what happened last year -- the Bucks should have had the third or fourth pick (IIRC), but ended up with the 7th.

We should have had the 3rd pick and we ended up with the 6th pick. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

true, but you cant move up from your "projected spot" more than 3 places. Only 3 or 4 teams have a chance to be #1 with the new system. So to have any sort of shot at picks 1-3, you need to have the 4th-6th worst record or worse.

Plus, the odds of the Bucks getting a pick higher than they are supposed to get are slim to none. come on now, it's the Bucks.

That is just incorrect.

Here are the odds for each seed to get specific picks in the 2007 lottery (rounded to 3 decimal places):

Seed Chances 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th 11th 12th 13th 14th
1 250 .250 .215 .178 .357
2 199 .199 .188 .171 .319 .123
3 156 .156 .157 .156 .226 .265 .041
4 119 .119 .126 .133 .099 .350 .161 .013
5 88 .088 .097 .107 .261 .359 .084 .004
6 53 .053 .060 .070 .439 .331 .046 .001
7 53 .053 .060 .070 .572 .226 .018 .000
8 19 .019 .022 .027 .725 .196 .011 .000
9 19 .019 .022 .027 .784 .143 .005 .000
10 18 .018 .021 .025 .846 .087 .002 .000
11 8 .008 .009 .012 .907 .063 .001 .000
12 7 .007 .008 .010 .935 .039 .000
13 6 .006 .007 .009 .960 .018
14 5 .005 .006 .007 .982

Is this a new rule? If so are they reslotting all of the lottery teams? (i.e. the 11th worst team could pick anywhere from 8th-14th) or still just the top 3?

A letter supporting him?
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

The latest from Bill Simmons. I'm gonna write a letter.

How about you?

I realize the element of humor and tongue in cheek-ness of the Simmons for GM campaign but come on, how dumb is this comment-

Jeff in Madison explained, "I've lived here my whole life and never cared about the Bucks. That will change if you become the GM."

question, do NBA teams even try on the road?

It doesn't seem like it considering that the Bucks 6-25 road record is good for only the 6th worst road record in the league.

Thank god I'm not a Bucks fan. I thought the Brewers were iffy on the road. Ouch

Everything I've ever known, I've learned from Brewerfan.net....Seriously though

I'm gonna write a letter to Mr. Simmons. Explaining to him, that being the Bucks GM, has very little to do with making actual basketball decisions, and everything to do with making the decisions Herb Kohl and his cronies will allow him to.

I mean, You think Larry Harris heard this when he got the gig? "Here, we expect you to do this job, and do it well, but, you aren't free to make any of your own decisions, only to run idea's past us, so we can take credit and not allow you to make any actual moves."

"I wasted so much time in my life hating Juventus or A.C. Milan that I should have spent hating the Cardinals." ~kalle8

Over the course of five years I've gone from reading every one of Simmons' articles to not even bothering to look at them. It seems that he's fallen head over heels in love with himself. Things quickly started to go south around the time his animated cartoon started showing up on ESPN's site.
