FOX World Series theme

pitchleague
Anybody know what the main theme music FOX is using for their WS coverage this year is from? Sounds like a movie soundtrack or John Williams. I don't remember them ever using it before.

I have no information on that music. It does sound John Williams-esque - and since he did his own special adapted version of the national anthem before Game 1, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he'd been asked to do the same for the FOX WS theme.

If we could stay up long enough tonight, and tolerate the FOX lovefest for Boston, we could probably find out in the credits they'll show during the touching end-of-postseason montage...unless Colorado wins or something crazy like that.

Edit: A google search for "world series" + music + fox resulted in a surprising number of relevant hits, including several from Yahoo Answers which suggest the music is from Jurassic Park. If true, that would suggest both movie soundtrack and John Williams. Link (check the Related Questions at right too)

yeah, I did that search too and came up with those same links. And, as a music guy and soundtrack afficianado (sp?), it is definitely NOT Jurassic Park. But it does sound very John Williams-esque. I never thought of the end credits for the WS, I forgot they still do that.

I knew I'd get crap for being a music guy and not knowing this. Thanks for stepping up to the plate, Laura. :-)

I think it's hilarious that they're trying to add this air of regality about the World Series.

To me it kind of sounds like the theme from "Band of Brothers" (I know that it isn't that particular theme, just commenting on the style/mood of the music).
