Tribe returning Beau Mills to 3B

Mills is a good young hitter, who was drafted with a sore shoulder, which made the Indians think he was a 1B instead of a 3B. His shoulder soreness is now gone, and he's being moved back across the diamond, which may make Andy Marte someone else's 3B of the future...again.

I like this kid, if he can stick at 3B, more power to the Tribe.

Mills was one of my favorite draft-eligible prospects for this past year's draft, someone that I compared to Jim Thome as part of his scouting report:

If Mills continues to be groomed as a 3B, I feel that he, like Thome, will not spend much time there at the MLB level. It doesn't have much to do with his arm/shoulder, he just doesn't project to be very good defensively at the hot corner.

He doesn't have the lateral quickness to remain at third base. He's a bigger kid that projects to get even bigger as he adds more strength. He's a below average defensive third baseman now, and basically doesn't have the athleticism to stick at the position long-term. He's a 1B or LF down the road, which isn't really a shot against him, as he has the power potential to more than earn his keep at any position.

I still like Andy Marte, but not as much as I did two years ago. Where did all the walks go?
