Any reviews of AT&T's U-verse service?

Blazer25
I tried for a month to get the service and finally just gave up. The first technician came out said he couldnt get us set up because we were 200 feet farther away than the main hub and needed a specialist to come out and amp up the hub. They rescheduled the appt, didnt show up 3 times, with my fiance taking off work once to have them no show. They finally got a guy out here when I put down an ultimatum that they needed to be here by a certain time or i was out. They sent out a normal technician, not the specialist they had promised and the guy just trailed dirt through my house for no reason, taking up my entire saturday for him to tell me what the other guy did 3 weeks before. I'm usually not one to make a big fuss about this sort of thing, but I'd scream from the rooftops how disappointed I was with both the customer service and the entire process. I'm in Cedarburg so the service is fairly new up here.

That sucks about your customer service. The guy I had was great. He was installing, a Brewers game was on that afternoon (Brewers vs Giants from Miller Park, Hall hit a grand slam in the 1st inning, Brewers won 7-5.) I asked him how long it would take to get it set up, he said he would get it done as fast as he could. I missed the first batter of the Brewer game, saw the rest, he would come in and check periodically taking a little break from installing some other stuff because he was a Brewers fan too.

i had one bad experience with their customer service, but now i will chalk it up to them being new. it wasn't intentional, i just don't think they were fully organized yet. i know it's not an excuse, but since then i've had zero issues. and i did get a free month of service out of it for my inconvenience...

Thanks for the reply Menotti. So I am reading this correctly that it is 2 HD shows can be recorded at once in the whole house not per DVR? The reason I ask is I have 3 HD DVR's (*2 tuners each so up to 6 HD feeds) running on my DirecTV and sometimes, I may be recording 3 HD feeds and watching a fourth live (or more if my my wife is watching a diferent TV). I think the fear that the bandwith is so rescricted on the UVerse has made me leery of ever switching. I don't have plans to but just want to make sure I know the options and limitations.

from what i understand, you have have multiple receivers (i have 2), but only one of them can have DVR. so you can only have 1 DVR box with DVR capabilities in the house, even though you can watch your DVR shows on any receiver.

i hope that someday this will change, but time will tell
