Random thoughts that are pointless and too dumb to say anywhere else thread: 2007

I think it's funny how we use two different measuring systems to measure volumes of bottled drinks. The 2-Liter bottle of soda, the .5 liter bottle of water, the 20 oz. bottle of soda, 12 oz. can, 40 oz. beer. Why do we use both the English and the Metric to measure the same stuff?

Also, when did the craze of spelling words with -re instead of -er begin? Any time a new theatre is built, it's always theatre, never theater. Same holds true for litre and liter.

The video for Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" really ticks me off. In the song David Coverdale says that he's a "drifter who was born to walk alone", but in the video there's a hot chick with him at all times. Doesn't look too "alone" to me.

That was Tawny Kitaen, his wife at the time.....she left him alone later on, and then married a MLB pitcher, who I'm blanking on his name right now. She later abused him, with a high heel, if memory serves correct.

You know those novelty "new year" glasses?

The design works now (and worked reasonably well in the 1990s) because the center two digits of the year number are the same.

So does the product have a future beyond 2009?
